Ladisa wins green public procurement tender for carabinieri forces

From 1st January 2016, Ladisa will be in charge of catering services for the Carabinieri forces in 12 regions of Italy. The Bari-based catering company (approximately 3,000 employees, over 12 million meals produced annually) has won the €13m green public procurement tender to provide catering services to 160 units of the force, preparing approximately 3,000,000 meals per year. The company will provide its services from Bolzano to Palermo, catering for forces in the regions of Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta, Lombardy, Liguria, Trentino Alto Adige, Abruzzo, Molise, Apulia, Campania, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily.

Eco-sustainability was a key factor in the successful bid, in line with an Environmental Ministry decree passed on 27th July 2011. In addition to offering organic, DOP and IGP products, Ladisa also uses local produce, eco-labelled detergents, tissue paper products and multi-use kitchenware (porcelain plates, glassware and aluminium cutlery). It also guarantees waste recycling and thanks to its logistics network throughout Italy, transportation requirements are significantly reduced.

The award of this important contract comes shortly after the mid-December opening of its food court services at RAI. It also follows yesterday’s decision by the third section of the state council who have dismissed the appeal made by catering company Sodexo Italia, who are now liable for legal costs. The council accepted the argument put forward by Ladisa's defence team (represented by lawyers Francesco Paolo Bello (Polis Avvocati), Giancarlo Luglini and Flavio Iacovone), who underlined the legitimacy of the Bari-based company’s technical bid and its holding company with Innova to be constituted as a temporary company association.
